Stop Snoring

Popular Stop Snoring Products

In recent times, more and more folks are searching for stop snoring products to help them and their loved ones get a more peaceful night’s rest. But one may ask if these are actually effective products to stop snoring or are they just scams to get your money? Let’s take a look at some of the products that are available and check out how well they work.

Stop Snoring Mouth Appliances

Stop snoring products in the form of mouth appliances that you put over your face before going to sleep are becoming increasingly popular. Dental snoring appliances that fit inside the mouth and move your jaw forward to allow passageways to remain open are also an option. An example of a mouth appliance is called a Mandibular Advancement Appliance. This device is custom-made for the individual’s mouth by their dentist.

The question is, “Do these stop snoring products work?” The answer is, “Usually ‘yes’, but not in all cases”. It should also be noted that the cost is relatively high for these types of devices and you can expect to pay around $1,000 or more for the device, fittings, etc. The device, itself, may also be too uncomfortable for you to use.

A continuous positive airway pressure mask (CPAP Mask) is designed to keep your throat from collapsing which would cause you to snore. With a CPAP Mask, a pump is attached that forces air pressure to the throat. As you can expect, this is not the most convenient or comfortable device to use. This category of stop snoring products is very expensive, as well. Even so, it’s considered to be effective – especially in cases of sleep apnea.

Other Products to Stop Snoring

Other stop snoring products can include snoring pillows and snoring sprays. Stop snoring pillows are designed to help the snorer sleep on their side rather than on their back. This will keep their air passageways open – which will possibly eliminate snoring. These sell for around $20-$75.

Stop snoring sprays come in many varieties and can be found in your local pharmacy (or the pharmacy section of your supermarket). The object of these sprays is the lubrication of air passageways. Unfortunately, having a dry throat is not the usual reason for snoring. Also, there is a potential for nasal sprays to become addictive.

In any case, stop snoring products may offer temporary relief from snoring. However, the best advice is to address the root cause of snoring. This may require a visit to your doctor.
